Top Tie
Top ties are suggested as an improvement over armor rods handled with hand tie wires and insulators in clamp tops, also named preformed wire ties. They give ultimate protection against abrasion and conductor motion types. The ties without the pads are intended for plastic conductors but might be used for replacing hand tie wires in areas where there is no abrasion damage.
The top tie is basically applicable in securing plastic jacketed or bare conductor in the top groove of the head-style insulators that are interchangeable. Fit is basically resilient and gives superior performance over galloping and Aeolian vibration.
Powertelcom is a preformed wire tie manufacturer, our top ties are made of steel covered with aluminum. There is also a pad, an elastomer tube which is supplied with the distribution tie on the bare conductor. These are identified separately. The top ties are supplied with no pads for the plastic jacketed conductor which is basically identified separately as well. The identification tag sorts out the neck size, catalog number, nominal conductor range, and diameter range of the conductor.
Features
- Ultimate protection from abrasion for the conductor in all states of the motion
- Gives ultimate protection through the elimination of abrasion
- The component elastomer surrounds the bare conductor using a resilient cushion

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is top tie?
Top tie is suggested to be an improvement over the armor rods that are handled with the hand tie wires and insulators in the clamp tops. Moreover, they give protection against the different conductor motion types and abrasion. The top ties without the pads are basically intended for plastic conductor but these might be used to replace the hand tie wire in the areas when there is no damage.
How are the top ties used?
The top ties are applicable in the securing of the plastic jacketed or the bare conductor in top groove of the head-style insulators which are basically interchangeable. These are resilient and give performance better for the Aeolian vibration and galloping.
What are the components of the products?
The top tie is made of steel which is covered with aluminum. One component making the product is a pad which is a specifically designed elastomer tube that is supplied with the distribution on bare conductor. It is supplied for the plastic jacketed conductor that is identified separately. There is an identification tag for neck size, catalog number, nominal conductor range, and the diameter range of the conductor.
